lesson instructions for friday 14th feb 2014
1. Use the Google doc overview of the various short stories to determine what themes are recurrent in a number of stories. (Suggestions: Love and marriage, the failure of the American dream, Identity, being trapped/disappointment in life, voyeurism)
2. You will then need to create a “quote bank” (list of relevant quotes) for each theme identified (this can be done in books or on computer). Quotes should be clearly and correctly labelled (page number, story, character etc.) Each theme should have at least 5 relevant quotes. Posters should then be created for each theme with the theme central to the poster and relevant quotes attached to the outside.(Pick a theme you would like to do, but make sure you're not all doing the same one.)
3. Practice writing a sentence (which could be used in a text response essay) about each theme using and integrating one of the quotes.
If you complete this work, you may then move on to working on KK2.
