Unit 4- Area of Study 2- Presenting Argument
SAC- Oral presentations
Your first SAC for Unit 4 is an oral presentation. Your presentation will go for 4-6 minutes and will be delivered in front of a panel of two teachers. This will take place early in the last week of Term 2 (24th and 25th June) so it is essential that you have planned and prepared well. You will select a time to present via the Google Form on the home page of this Weebly.
As well as preparing and delivering your speech, you also need to write a written explanation, where you explain the choices you have made in putting together your speech. Remember FLAP-C? You'll be using that again. The written explanation makes up 25% of your score for this task so you need to take it seriously.
You need to complete the planning proforma in the pack below by Friday 7th June. If you are unsure if your topic is suitable, please contact your teacher to check.
Further information and assessment details about the oral presentations are available on the document below.

Some ideas for oral presentation issues:
If you don't like these ideas, pay attention to the news- read the headlines, watch the daily news, scroll your newsfeed- there will be something there that will catch your attention and if all else fails ask someone at home, discuss with your teacher or choose one of the issues above.
You can choose any issue you like as long as it has been discussed in the media since September 2018. Choose something that you will find interesting because this will make it interesting for your audience too. You cannot present on a topic that you have previously spoken about for a SAC.
(If you really want to challenge yourself why not try arguing the opposite to what you really believe?!)
Please also make sure you check out the resources on the flipped lessons/resources- using language to persuade page to help you in creating your oral.
