Welcome to Unit 4 English
It probably seems like only yesterday (or Friday, at the latest) that you were doing Unit 3 English. Well, true story. You were. But we're immediately moving on to Unit 4! The first thing you'll be doing in Unit 4 is the Oral Presentation and you will have finished the oral before you go on holidays this term - hooray! Over the holidays you'll be given some work to complete for the comparative unit and at this point, you should already be reading 'Tracks' in preparation.
Next week (during GAT week) everyone will complete a trial exam during class. This exam will consist of Section A (text response) and Section C (language analysis). Section B won't be on the trial exam because we've not yet done the comparative unit. In preparation, you may like to look at the 2017 VCAA Exam Paper (there are links below for both English and EAL). Don't be alarmed that 'Like a House on Fire' isn't on the paper - it's a new text this year.
