SAC iB- Burial Rites- creative response
Learning intention: You will create a sustained creative responses to Burial Rites by Hannah Kent, demonstrating your understanding of the world of the text and how Kent constructs meaning. In developing a creative response you will explore issues of purpose and audience and make key choices about structure, conventions and language. You will develop a credible and effective voice and style and use the chosen features of the selected text, for example characters, narrative or dialogue, to offer an interpretation of the selected text.
TASK:
- You will be given a choice of four different prompts to use to write your creative response.
- You will be provided these prompts on the Friday afternoon before SAC week.
- You may use your copy of Burial Rites.
- You will have a 5 minute interview with a Year 12 English teacher where you can ask advice and share plans. We will not be reading plans and editing work during this 5 minutes.
- You will have 5 periods (one week) to write your creative response (approx. 1000 words) and a written explanation of your authorial choices (approx, 500 words).
- You will be given your SAC book to plan/draft and write this response, we will collect it back after each class.
